I left for my annual leave on June 9 with a pair of cut-throats on 5 eggs. I got back last night and today, July 11, I noticed the hen was still sitting tight. Intreaged, I looked in and found 20 eggs! Both her and the eggs were very soiled so I threw the nest out but I'm worried she'll just move to another nesting site and start laying again. Obviously the male isn't doing his job too well but she deserves a rest. What's the best approach to stopping her laying and giving her a chance to recuperate?
1. Remove all possible nesting containers and materials?
2. Separate the pair?
3. Place her in a small cage by herself?
4. How long should the birds be rested?
4. What can I give them to bring them both in good condition?

Any thoughts

I would seperate them then after a couple of months let them try again. if you remove the nests it may not stop them.
have never had cut-throats so I dont know if a change of diet would be any help
