I have separated some finches out ready for sale into holding cages and noticed yesterday that 2-3 of the 10 have poo stuck to their feet. this has never happened before in the main aviary and i was wondering if anyone had tips on how best to clean them. thanks

Wash their feet in warm water. Soak them for a couple of minutes and then very gently rub the poop off their feet. Don't force it tho because you can break toes and rip skin off. You might need to do this for a couple of days to get them completely clean.

I assume they are newly fledged from the nest?
If they have only just come out of the nest, do not separate them from their parents yet. They need to have been out of the nest for at least a couple of months before they are separated from their parents, and if possible they should have adult plumage and an adult coloured beak.

Are the holding cages you have them in small? Do the holding cages have sand on the floors?
