firetail is acting off

am wondering if my firetail girl could be eggbound ......had an episode once b4 when an unexpected cold snap hit and my girl quarrion became very ill and eggbound ....was an expensive event but she come out of it well....now weve had a cold snap and my firetail is reluctant to leave the cage floor she looks ok nothing noticably wrong except that she wont budge.....i have a feeling there may be eggs in the nest box as the male is always in there and so was she up till now so am not sure as to whether to bring her in side or leave her be.any suggestions cheers deb

Hi Deb, might be worth to have a look to see if she is egg boundas you should be able to tell by looking at her, if so so a bit of olive oil around the vent and keep her warm with a light, let us know how she is

thanx page ...just checked her and she is in the nest box if she looks crook today ill bring her inside and do the olive oil thing .....cheers
