Hi all. I thought I would wake up the dead. Lol. As this post is 12 years old and was very informative and a interesting read Even if the poster hi jacked his post lol. Does these symptoms of not flying also effect males as well As in the last week I have had 3 start the hops all in in separate aviaries and about 5 /6 year olds o an I only have had finches for about 5yrs so a beginner haha Sorry about the long post

Can happen in any bird that does not have sufficient calcium. Just more common in hens because they need more calcium to lay.
Birds like people have food preferences - the not so bright do not eat health in both species. Oops just looked in the mirror.

lol i broke my mirror years ago my problem is shrinkage hmm forget that um i am growing shorter and rounder tomato style haha ok enough dribble thanks for response today i have put the birds on a multi vit an calcium water addittive so hope that works the bottle says for 3/5 days then back to straight water when molting give daily ? so hopfully this will help correct the problem cheers Demmo
