Which and where and how can i get some flyes/maggot for my breeding box? Which fly is better?
I bought a milk powder from Safeway, is it ok to use it or should i buy calf powder...?
Which stage/size of maggot should I feed my finches?

The best way to get you flies going is to get some from another breeder.
Surely there is some one in the Geelong area who will help you out

If you can't find some locally you can buy housefly pupae from frogs.org.au

Cheers

Sam,are those pupae viable, chilled and dead?

Jenk you can feed pupae out to your birds, just be careful that if they are dead that will go off very quickly at ambient temperatures. Also,it might take your birds a while to know what they are because they don't wiggle. Craig

They start emerging before they get to you, I found most of my birds ignored the maggots, but the Wrens & Woodswallows love the pupae, & the Honeyeaters would wait till they emerge & pick them off. In saying that, I have access to a handy supply of termites
