Hi all, Can anyone identify those 2 grasses, is the first one guinea grass? :?:
I have both in my 4.8 X 2.4 M aviary-to-be
Is it a good idea to have those, my parrot birds like them, or will they overgrow the whole aviary at some point?
Thanks for feedback, much appreciated :!:

Yes both Guinea grass, they don't spread by underground rhizomes but do spread by seed. The plant will thicken in size and needs a good harsh cut back down to 200 to 300mm above ground level after seeding. You will most probably find your birds will keep it in check anyway eating new shouts and fresh growth so covering with a wire frame helps get re established. Craig
