Hey Guys,
So we frequently go to the local reserve & collect seed grass for our finches. We are aware of which are & aren't good however we stumbled upon a large bush of seeded grass which we couldn't identify & were wondering if anybody here could? Theres just so much of it & if they can eat it then it heaps us & them. Just need to know if the birds can eat it & what it is called if possible.
Thank you

This is the best Autumn seeding grass you can get around here. It prefers semi-shaded moist areas - excellent finch tucker. Perfect rearing food for all Autumn breeding finches. If you have a large local supply it may be worth picking an extra large batch when its fully ripe & strip the seed into containers & freeze it for an extended supply into winter. Ideal to mix such stripped green seeds with sprouted seed mixes.
