Canary seed is fairly high in oils. Do you have a stock supplier near by? Someone from your state may be able to suggest one. Look at the mixs they have and pick one. Consider buying a kilo or 2 of each of several seeds and mixing your own, if you have a 10kl bucket you can keep it in.

Ok, thank you, sounds like I need to check out some stock suppliers. I'm in Toowoomba so I shouldn't have any trouble finding one. I don't think I would mix my own, unless I had a "recipe", because I would be worried about not giving them the right amount of things they need.

Most organic oils (cod liver, coconut etc) will be digested by the bird so wont really help with constipation.
You need a mineral oil which wont be digested and will pass down the GIT unaltered and lubricate as it goes.

Thank you. Any suggestions on which one? And dosage, frequency?

Thankfully he has been a lot better, but it would still be good to know.

Increasing the greens and oil seeds is the best/healthiest way to solve this problem. So double the greens and add an extra teaspoon of canary seed per bird. Wait a week and hopefully all will be well.
