I reckon to use a basic finch mix in hotter months and go for oily fattening seed for cold months and when feeding chicks or birds are sick etc.

Taste of Africa is/was a Birds R Us product.
Birds R Us (the name/brand) was owned?? and sold by Pet Shop One.
I believe Pet Shop One changed ownership last year, dont know the status on Birds R Us though.

Birds r us is now called birds n all in perth.
Is that guinea grass (pannicum maximum) a fairly tall grass? I think I've got some growing that I dug up from someone who had half his back yard full of it. Nice big seed heads. I might have to find some seed and grow a heap.

I used to supply the phalaris, major and minor for birds r us until my supply ran out. Their mix was all sorts of wild grass seeds and small oil seeds as well as lettuce and other vege seeds.
This mix was originated by MF and sold by BrU until a dispute erupted and was disbanded. Mike also setup another outlet but not sure if it continues. Craig

You may be right Craig, The local retailer here I believe kicked of the range of BrU products again a while back. They did have some good seed mixes and powdered/granule foods. Unfortunately the BrU brand has disappeared and the then owner sold their retail outlet.
