Wild oats are ok to feed finches though maybe last on the list. Gouldians will eat it if there is no other seed around to eat, it's best to put in a mixture of green grass seed heads and let them sort what to eat.
There is a smaller type oat looking seed called Nigerian or long flowered/eared veldt grass that should be just about seeding in your State around now that they like but they will prefer panic veldt grass over all that should be also seeding now. Craig
