dead chick

just did the daily business on the breeding boxes and found a dead red firetail chick under the endive on the ground which i put in yesterday.....no injuries and seemed to be plump and pink...... this is their first breeding and im wondering if anyone can suggest what may have happened ???? oh no feathers so still a youngin....

Might help if we know what sate your in.
I find the weather dose some strange thing to finches.
Keeping Gouldians,Double Bars,Diamonds & Painted Finches.

may have been dragged out of the nest by one of the parents as they went in & out, so most likely an accident. sure hope you dont find any more

am in nsw and have had a cold snap here ....thinking it may have been an accident as the dead one was covered by endive that had been left in cage....fingers crossed its a one off hey cheers

could have been many things,cold,accident,inexperiance etc.
