We bred a half side gouldian, i am sure it was primarily a cock bird though, given the colour of its beak, head and yellow abdomen feathering.

Half the breast purple was male and the other half female.

It was split perfectly down the centre.

This bird lived for about 8 years and did not breed.

I do not have any photo's however if there are any members of the old Sutherland Shire Caged Bird Society on here that i am unaware of,they may be able to vouch for this bird, as i know a handful of these members have sighted the bird.

Here are the translations, thanks to good old google translate:

Post 1 and 2 (they both say the same thing) : Good evening, I have such a female Gouldian at home. I just can't insert a photo here.

Post 3: Here is my female Gouldian Finch

Thanks,
Aidan

As my daughter has done a degree in Biology since the beginning of this thread. And is madly into genetics. I discussed this topic with her a while back. If the creature that is gandamorph is all one sex it can reproduce. In fact there was a very complicated court case in America sparked by just that fact. A women had her children taken off her because they did not gene match. (lots more story in between) Eventually further tests were taken and they did gene match. Yes she was a gandamorph. Depended which side they took the sample from.
Aidan thanks for the translation.
