I live on the north coast of nsw. Can anyone tell me where I can find November grass in the wild? I guess it's available in November?

November/ swamp grass is usually found in low lying areas that are covered with water for varying periods (hence the name 'swamp' grass). It has usually matured and dried by November/December and can be collected in the following months. Investigate suitable terrain local to your area. The main problem in obtaining it these days is with the number of suitable locations that occur on private property.
If you need to buy it be sure to check the texture first...good grass is very fine...not-so-good grass has a lot of coarse stems that are quite hard and brittle.

Try looking along the side roads, culverts, ditches/low areas around the sugarcane fields. Harvest the seed heads prior to heavy rainfall. Stops it from going moldy etc.
