I live in Canberra and am interested in buying a pair of parrot finches from a breeder in Mackay. Is there any reliable way of getting them shipped to the ACT?

There is but they must be good birds as the freight costs will be about the same if not more than
what the birds cost

There may be but I just go to the nearest pet store or breeder and buy a finch or two. Maybe the breeder knows some ways?

We use feathers and scales freight ( fb page or google them ) much easier then trying to book yourself, lorikeets size birds cost us 60 -80 dollars from Sydney to Brisbane, Melbourne ect, never tried finches though, always thought it might be too much for them.

I use Qantas air freight, bit of a bugger to book but very reliable, cost between$55 to $80 dollars but if the birds are worth it then fine ,far better to know the breeder than buying from pet shops imo, garyh

Hi Mick parrot finches are pretty hardy but getting them from Mackay this time of year could lead to to losses as we have all ready had several
minuses ,plus I seen in wanted post that you are after red and blue face pairs not recommended running both together as they will inter breed.
