Finches Drinking Bath Water

How do you prevent finches from drinking their bath water? I have a separate water dispenser that has a narrow opening so they couldn't bathe in it. Only my normal grey uses the drinking water dispenser and I have only seen my pied drink their bath water. Both of them drink it before bathing. If I remove the bathing container, will my normal grey hen (who has been with me longer) teach the pied hen how to drink properly?

They'll drink wherever they want to drink. As their keeper, it's your job to make sure all their water sources are fresh and clean.

If you're really worried, remove the bath immediately after they've used it. In winter, they're not likely to be using the bath for temperature control, so one bath a day is more than sufficient.

Jesus, I'm not a religious man, but devine intervention is needed.

In their natural environment they drink from and bathe in anything from rivers to puddles. So in captivity they do not see a difference, only we have preconceived ideas about which container is for what. So try following Shane's suggestion, but accept that they really don't care.

I was always told that drinking your own bathwater was the highest form of conceit . .

Can the level of conceit be downgraded if the bath is being shared ?

At that point it becomes more of a broth than a bath.
