I have the feeling Mum has a copy of that book Arthur. Some of them are real beauties. Ah well, we can dream.

The top pic is from the March/ April 1971 "Foreign Birds" magazine, the organ of The Foreign Bird League (UK)

The plate was painted specially for FBL by Robin L Restall, renowned amateur ornithologist, aviculturist, artist, and author who studied, and kept finches, and other avian species, in many countries of the world
