Hi Team,

I have a solo pair of crimsons in a 1 x 3m aviary. I'm considering putting a pair of elegant parrots in there. How would they fair? I'm actually more worried about the parrots haha

I'm not a fan of mixing species . .

Your aviary sounds the ideal size for a pair of Bloods/ OR a pair of Elegants . . the fact that you say that you are worried, whether you are worried about the finches, or the parrots, should be a bit of a guide . .

Thanks for the feedback Arthur. I'll hold off.

If you are ever contemplating to attempt a mix which you have doubts about (whether finches mixed with other species or finches with finches) it would have the best chance of cohesion if all birds are released into the aviary together as young birds.

Thank you for that info. That's what I tend to do with finches so it only make sense

Hi,I have a pair of crimsons and a pair of yellow rumps in with a pair of hoodeds, the hoodeds ignore the crimsons but shoo the yellow rumps away, but the hoodeds are starting to get ready to breed now, will have to keep a close eye on them.

That would be stressful for the Y-R's . . and they will not breed under those conditions

You should consider removing them
