My mother is in her 80's and very active. People are regularly surprised at how mentally active she is. And it is because the birds need her. Birdkeepers are smarter and more active than the average person, for longer. Quote that one.

You are certainly correct about that, a president of the Finch Society of Australia from way back, Doug Hill lived with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and still bred some very good birds, because the birds had to be done every day, it gave him motivation to do his birds. Les Banks who I mentioned, is in his 80's as well, and he now has a relay of walkers between his aviarys to keep him walking and doing his birds

Great, you'll see me up the front, just wander over and introduce yourself and I will remember, and we can have a chat
Thanks

Well, there is a period of time before and after the main speakers and announcements where everybody walks around and has conversation.

Ok, I live in Toowoomba and have not been able to attend a meeting because of the distance to travel, so I am not all that sure of what happens at QFS meetings

On the other hand, an early bird ticket for that is $299! Maybe won’t go, I might see if I can go free cause I know sponsored juniors could at Finches ‘17
