I honestly don't know how I ended up becoming obsessed with birds instead of video games such as Fortnite that everyone else is obsessed with. Well, we can enjoy aviculture while it lasts, because it would take a miracle to make it popular with most kids who would think "oh, breeding birds is gross". Hopefully that miracle will come some day.

Can only emphasise that "pet" keeping is good for mental health and that birds require less space and exercise than dogs and cats. Then hope.

And you don't need to take them walks, they just stay in the one spot all the time
What I don't get is someone going out to spend $1000 on a dog, and the medications are so expensive, whereas finches and other birds medications inexpensive and practically DIY
