Hi,

So I have a question. I’ve done some research and found geckos love mealworms. So, what if I covered some mealworms in Dettol and put them outside the aviary? Will that work?

Could crush up a bit of rat poison and dust some mealworms and make sure they are far away from the aviary, and make sure to check routinely that they have not karked it in the aviary

No use putting anything outside of the aviary as the problem is inside and that is where the Gecko's live. They can be a major problem,i know as i have them.

Being a "do the job properly and not squeemish" type gal. :shifty: Take a solid flat rock into the avairy, look in nooks and crannies. :problem: If you find pests, apply the rock firmly to the pest. Problem solved - over and done with. I apply my boots and solid waddies to mice in this manner, as I was taught to my my dad back when I was in Primary School.

Dettol wont harm finches
Mixed with oil I have used Dettol on canaries and finches that I have bought cheap (when looking for a particular colour or mutation that is hard to get) to treat scaley feet and legs.
Re the Geckos I still prefer a boot, brick or rock.
