Stay away or hold it in the open air if you must. I didn't go to the largest show in the UK for that reason, most birdkeepers are older & more susceptible to the virus. I suspect some scheduled shows are waiting for the government to ban such events so they can claim their costs back.

It has just been reported that there is now three reported cases of corona virus in the city of Orange NSW so if you did go to the sale and you are not feeling well get yourself tested.

Luckily for us, Australia has one of the best health systems in the world. And while our infection and death rate is middling. It is chiefly amongst people who have been traveling in planes or ships. So keep well, and off transport other than your own car. Lots of people have regular flus and are no risk to anyone. But avoiding large gatherings and crowds is still a safer alternative if we are older or unwell.

Thank god I live in the middle of nowhere, far from everyone and if worse comes to worse, I'm pretty good at finding a bit of tucker in the scrub :D
I think with a bad disease going around, you have to just use your ticker appropriately, and not go and buy s*** loads of bog roll like the rest of the country is doing
Just smart decisions like washing your hands, not touching your mouth or things that may be infected like railings and floors in public areas and you're risk will be dropped significatly
To all the older members here on the forum (everyone apart from me and Aidan ;-) ), stay safe

Cheers

:D Its annoying that everyone is taking all the toilet paper for no reason, there is a local women that ordered what was meant to be 3 packets of some special toilet paper from years ago, which ended up turning into 3 PALLETS full, and she has sold most of the toilet paper she didn't need

My Mulberry tree is nice and leafy, guess whats that gonna be used for when the toilet paper runs out :lolno:

Keep it sensible guys. So the answer to Gary's original post is no more than 500 people at non essential gatherings so our bird expo's will most likely be effected with this decision.

Sounds like only small local sales and shows will go ahead then.
