Star Finch head problem

A male Star Finch has suddenly had its head turn so it's eyes are almost looking down at the ground and its beak pointing first over one shoulder then the other. Was initially flying around, quite oddly, almost tumbling mid flight until now when it seems unable to fly at all and is staggering around the floor trying to eat and drink. Quite an unusual sight that startred a few days ago and I've no idea what's medically wrong with it. Any clues??

Is it a female? Sounds a lot like egg binding. If so, you'll need to keep her warm (about 30 degrees) and in a low-stress environment, such as a small cage inside with a towel over the top.

Try this for starters . .

Not a lot of 'good news' I'm afraid . .

Thanks for the replies. Shane, it's definitely a male and Arthur, reading that reporting on 'twirling' , I recon you've hit the nail on the head, up until now I've never heard of it. 🙃
