Have you read all the section on Painteds? I seem to recall something along these lines being discussed before. Might not be in the specific section.

Fawn painteds are autosomal recessive so if a fawn bird is bred to a normal all young are split fawns. A split fawn to a normal will produce 50% splits and 50% normals so not a good way to go.
You can breed fawn to fawn to get 100% fawn but as i said in earlier post you need to add new blood as you go.
The best breeding is a split to a colour of either sex to get colour and all split young, remembering a colour bird to any normal bird or split bird will always produce splits and in the case of the split bird they will produce colour and splits.

And, I know it wasn't your question . . but . .

Provided there are no 'splits' involved, if you breed FAWN to YELLOW (either way) . .

You will get ALL normal-coloured birds that are split for both Yellow and Fawn . .

Split Fawn to Normal will produce 50% Split, 50% Normal. All normal coloured so in real term 100% possible split.
