I read not to mix with other jacarinis. As the cocks can fight to the death. It says they are well suited to a mixed collection with other small finches.Such as orange breasts, african fire, cordons, nuns, and saint helenas. If you can mix them with these foreign finches.I would think they would be ok with any quite ozzie finch. My father has had one lone cock for about 7 years. He lives with scarlet chested parrots.

hey Deb, i will be in Gunnedah as well.
with the Jaca's, it depends on the size of aviary u have, if not that big i would stick to one pr, but i have been told that 3pr are ok but never 2 pr, i have had mine in a mixed collection with cubans etc, no probs, but it would prob depend on size again, i have had bloods in with ruddies, they say thats a no no, but all went on to produce really well, i didnt see any probs in my aviary and had quite alot of diff finches in there, but they have heaps of room.
