What is an effective bait that will last inside my mouse trap without needing constant changing? These are the traps:-

You dont need any bait for the traps you have puchased. Mice are naturally inquisitive and will go into the trap itself.once you have caught you first mouse leave it there to get a good scent in it.Then transfer the body to another trap after a while. Also if you want the bing factor you can try aniseed in the traps.

I agree that a bait is not necessary for those traps but it certainly helps. I've had rats in my shed eat through the bucket to get to the talon blocks, hence my recommendation.

I will have to try a block aswell then Tiaris it may have a scent to it they cant resist. Another tip with the trap just check the mechanism from time to time that it is clear from nesting material etc... as this will render it ineffective if it jams the ramp that they walk over and traps them inside. I clear mine a few times a year as they get November grass inside the trap.
