I was watching a movie last night called Stop-Loss, Some movie that came out this year about war heroes. During the end of the movie my puupy noticed some rustling around in the Finch cage but I thought it was just the finches trying to get comfortable so I ignored her.

Then when the credits started rolling I thought I would have a look in the cage so I lifted up the sheet and found my male zebra finch on his back dead.

I just looked at him, I didn't know what to say. A few days earlier he was acting a bit strange, puffing up and pecking at the bottom of the cage or when he was in the nest with the others he would curl his head to the side like budgies do when they go to sleep. I buried him at 10:57 pm

sorry to hear you lost a bird.
it's never easy losing one no matter how many you might have. most of the time we never know the reason for the loss either.
