Just tried to load a photo and it said too big,what size is required?

1 megabyte is the largest allowed filesize. There are no maximum width/height restrictions.
If you need to compress/resize images on Windows, check out Bzzt Image Editor. The default settings when you first open the program will create files that the forum should accept.

If I remember correctly, it has to be a maximum of 120x120 pixels and less than 1MB. There are lots of online photo resizers you can try.
