Have access to Lemon Grass, and was wondering if anyone has fed the seeds to their finches? Or used the grass for nesting material?
Have not tried the seeds on them, the grass I put in 2 days ago got used fast.

Seed heads are ok. Many finches will eat them.

What Lemon Grass are we referring to, a commercial herb/import or one of the Australian grasses?

No idea that there were more than one. Its in 4 pots on my back patio. Brother gave it to me when he moved east. Grows about 2mtrs tall, smells like lemon and has lots of dry grass. Birds are going crazy about it for nesting material.

Try the herb section of Bunnings or your local nursery.

Go to where you buy your vegetables, you can buy a small bunch generally 3 stalks.
They are normally trimmed at the bottom but still enough of the bulb end to hold the piece together.
Then simply plant each stalk and most will grow. Lemon grass needs plenty of water especially when
becoming established.
