Isn't coal mining fueling climate change? I mean, the pacific island leaders and NZ are pressuring ScoMo to cut back on coal mining but instead we are going the opposite way. I'm not trying to be racist towards Indian people (I am half Fijian-Indian and a quarter Sri Lankan) just to the companies that want to destroy wildlife and nature just for 150 jobs in coal mining. Mining really isn't the only job in rural areas is it?

And the so called 'management plans', yeah right, so all they do is plant a couple trees that cannot replace the 100 year old trees that used to be there, and then they decide to grow some grass on it so the farmers can let their stock graze the sh*te out of it (pardon the language), and then the animals are just supposed to return out of thin air, yeah right, its like saying ghosts are gonna fall from the sky and turn into Black throats, or Snipes or Koalas

The endangered finches threatening the Adani mine and the opening up of Queensland’s newest coal province are being bred in suburban homes and traded over the internet for as little as $30. Southern black-throated finches existed in large numbers.
This is not an endorsement of Aviculture. It is a cop out by suggesting there are so many in captivity that those in the wild do not matter. Beware forked tounges that speak sneaky. Here in the West people are advertising for mates for their lone or single sex birds because they are so hard to get. So I would really like to know where all these captive birds are?

And all the politicans say exactly that (not to mention Deb Frecklington on the price of the birds), they really have not even thought about genetic integrity, which is causing the major demise of our old mate the Kakapo

And the 'rehabilitation zones' are so far apart. How are these birds gonna know to fly 10km to the next rehabilitation zone. Honestly, it's like putting these birds in a cattle grazing area. What idiots they are...

Why doesn't the government have some common sense with this and do something. Honestly, Palaszcuck (I think that's how you spell it). On the other hand, Deb Frecklington (QLD opposition leader) wanted this approved earlier.

Old Deb Frecklington is the worst out of the lot in my belief, she mentioned about them costing less than $30 , and the context she put them into was pretty well like saying white rhinos cost around $100, and the last male died this year !
The little phrase 'genetic integrity' plays a role, Aussie aviculturalists see first hand the results of low genetic integrity, like what happened to the poor old Peters Twinspot, and the Silver eared mesia, they just end up dying out because they cannot reproduce effectively because of low fertility results, and in the end they die at an early age because of the faults they suppress to because of inbreeding.
Look at the old Kakapo, they are on their own island without any predators, and their only enemy are themselves because of all the inbreeding they have succumbed to.
