Ok excellent, I’ll do the egg on the weekend so I can get rid of it after an hour before it gets Spoiled.
I noticed today that there growing pretty quick . So after around 15 days I heard they Fledge out of the nest, once that happens how long do the parents feed the young till they know how to eat on there own ?

Also one other thing can the female raise the young on there own ? I had to take the male out because he kept trying to breed with the hen while the hen feeding the chicks . So for two days the hen been feeding the chicks much easier then before .

For some cup nesters, the ideal is a triple breeding box. Lady each side, gent has free range till he makes a nuisance of himself. Then you put a slide between them that has a "head hole" big enough for him to feed her but not get through. She can raise alone, but is more inclined to do so with him visible and assisting. This always depends on individual birds.

I think you have defeated the purpose of running them as a trio by removing the male and not letting him put her to nest as well.
Also, the male helps the hen feed the young when they are bigger and just about ready to fledge. He then takes over the feeding and the hen will go back to nest.
I have a pair with three young just fledged and the hen is back on 4 eggs.

Hi everyone my baby yellow Siskins have a all fledged for 3 days now and I noticed only the mum have been feeding them . The cock doesn’t want to know the chicks at all . Can the hen feed the chick on there own or should I help feed her chicks with her ?
