  Looking good Shane
My Goulds have a dodgy nest in a cane basket, only once they have nested in a box, otherwise its cane nests and brush cylinders they nest in

My gouldians are still building and laying... I tried ridding the geckoes by making a trap. This was a bunnings box with chicken wire on the top (so birds couldn't get in), the sticky side of those cheap fake tiles on the sides (to make the geckoes stuck) and an LED battery 'night light' and some mealworms... placed it on top of the geckoes' favourite nest box but it failed.

Can you close the "geckos favourite nest box" off from the birds. And then in the morning cover the hole completely and take it out of the avairy, complete with geckos?

Update: The Cubans are laying and incubating a number of eggs; the Gouldians have been building for about a month but never laying  and the stars have built a pile of feathers and grass in the brush cylinder...

Good result Aidan, here's hoping that you get some young out onto the perch

I have 4 nests of Black Rumped Double Bars now, and....... 2 nests with chicks as the parents have been darting in and out of the nest and you can hear them getting fed, and the other 2 nests are incubating eggs as we speak

More Blue faced Parrotfinches on the way as well, fledged 3 a couple weeks ago and they are on chicks again

More Bourkes Parrots as well, had a very good season with them so far

Ruddies and OB's on eggs as well, and the Gouldians are going strong with their chicks as well

Congratulations on the Double Bars  Hopefully you can get some young out on the perch with those!! Also I've found some plumheads at my local produce store and a hen from a bloke on the sunshine coast.

Thanks Aidan  , I've had so much trouble with them in the past, now I have a flock of 9 now, it has improved results a lot

Good to hear you finally are getting some plumheads mate  , they will be certainly well worth it and hopefully you get a heap of young out onto the perch, as they are getting pretty scarce nowadays

Would little brown bird syndrome be a main cause of plumheads' demise? Or something else?

LBJ Syndrome methinks. Birds demanding grass here but hiding their activities in the Grass cylinders above my head. Mum has her first 2 Gouldians of the season (from the split blues).

Plumheads laying and on the nest now (I think so, the hen is spending most of her time in the nest), as are Gouldians. Orange Breasts and Cubans putting the finishing touches on their nests.
