We didn't get the rain the City did unfortunately. And it started here earlier, but that means it also finished here earlier. Lost 3 finches only. All Zebs, a Red hen (must have flown at the wrong time) and 2 out of 3 fledgling pieds that must have decided to jump ship when their nest rocked around excessively.
Now we have two big trees to chop up, the vacant rental house also has a big (though not as big as at home) branch sitting half broken off in a tree. Hubby not impressed with the idea of spending so much time on the chainsaw. Look out Adelaide, the leftovers are headed your way.

Well cyclone season is on us again. Expecting to be inundated with lots of rain and fairly high winds in the next 24hrs. Have removed all empty nests to the ground - swinging arround and turning into projectiles not good. Roads into town all being closed from the south in about an hours time. Caravans headed south bumper to bumper yesterday.

It's been raining steady for a couple of hours now. But the wind is actually nothing out of the ordinary so far.
