Snakes in avairy

Gaps around aviary doors are a common weak link, but sills on all four sides will remedy this

Being a bush carpenter, I always used to make the doorway after the door to get a more snug fit, and the sills after the doorway to get a tight seal

Depending on soil type, things can 'shift' as ground moisture levels change, another way that security can be breached . .

The one that got me - almost literally - was when the mice dug under the walls - I did tell hubby I needed them deeper - and the snake followed them through the mouse hole. Ever seen a grown woman climb walls? Scared the !@#$ out of me. It was a metre long and hubby for his sins had to dispatch it.
