I agree E.Orix. I reckon they could be reproduced with a bit of careful selective breeding using the reddest normals as outcrosses to give that pink bleed through the pale areas bordering the dark red which made them so attractive. As is far too common now, little regard shown for the best quality of any species or form bred. No thought for patient, coherent selective breeding to achieve desirable improvements. Outcrosses to truly good quality normal birds is far too often seen as a backward step by some mutation breeders where in fact it is the only way to produce and maintain a stock of worthwhile specimens.
Remember that in the early days of fawn Saints, many if not most were bred via at least one normal phenotype parent. They were indeed a very attractive mutation at their best. Their best is possible again too if anyone cares to concentrate on them for a few seasons.
