Hello All,

Does anyone know, after the passing of the great Harry Carr, who is now the president of the club, and where the direction of it is going?

Cheers

Seems as though Kevin Power and David Bassett have taken over the reins of the club. You can get the newsletter sent via email. Remind me to PM you the details tomorrow. Were you in the society Ripley?

Hi Tintola,

I went to one meeting, and wanted to pay my subs, when Harry as the great man he was; said to me, "Chris, you don't have any birds at the moment, but you are always welcome to come to the meetings, but I won't ask any money from you.." This was about eighteen months ago.

To my great pleasure, I was fortunate enough to spend, an afternoon or two with Harry & his birds. it is with deep regret that I always had something else on the first Friday of each month? (I possibly, will be corrected...)

But. I let a great opportunity pass me by, to learn from one of the greats...I will not let this happen again....I feel rather haunted by this. And I think this is why now, that I have birds again, I am enthuisatic about this forum, I have joined the Australian Finch society, I'm off to the NSW Finch Exbititors Show next weekend, off to the conference in June...

I don't want to let this opportunity pass me by, to learn & to pass on to newer generations coming through, what I have learnt..

I do want to join & be apart of the group, because I want to own Scarlett Honeyeaters.

I am possibly babbling and being emotional...but....

Cheers

For anyone interested in joining the Australian Softbill and Native Pigeon Society Here are the details for the secretary.

I've had a few enquiries so I'll put it on the forum.
Its Kevin Power [email protected]

I think it is about $25 or $30 a year and you get a small magazine every two months or you can have it emailed to you. It has a few articles and a for sale / wanted section in it. Kevin should be able to tell you more.

Thanks Tintola and Ripley.

I am sure there are others who were wondering about joining that club as I was.

Ripley, good on you for your enthusiasm. You at least got to spend some time with Harry and I'm sure you learnt a lot in your few meetings with him.

Scarlet Honeyeaters are a great species to aspire to. There are several forum members who have them so good luck in achieving your goal.
