I used to add some to my egg and biscuit mix and the birds took it with enthusiasm. I have tried presenting the birds Insectivore Rearing Mix on it's own and have also tried the Passwell Finch Soft Food and found my birds did not take to either as greedily as they did to egg and biscuit. It is my belief that they find the egg and biscuit to be more palatable as they took to the egg and biscuit with added Insectivore Rearing Mix just as readily.
It is my understanding that egg and biscuit is fairly poor in nutrition, so the addition of Insectivore Rearing Mix was my way of overcoming that to some extent.

i have a small bowl avaiable in my mixed aviary at all times but it is depleted very slowly. When I mix it with egg and biscuit my finches take it quite well. I have seen the jacarinis, stars and parrot finches in the wambaroo bowl and i think they eat a little bit of it.
