Whenever I see a sign or advert saying "Free kittens" I alert the editor of the newspaper, or the shopping centre (community notice boards), free cycle site and remind them there are rules cponcerning the disposal of cats.
I know that animal "lover" groups have campaigned against shopping centre sale of pups/kittens because of the spontaneous purchase of cute animals. However, these very same groups will put a picture of a cute and cuddly cat/dog in a news item in newspapers saying, in effect, "save this animals life". I fail to see the difference.

All you people need is a good yard-dog, whenever my dog catches a cat I only wished he'd just chase the poor cat away, don't get a small dog, what you need is a good size dog like an Alsatian, Boxer, large Schnauzer etc.

Thing that worries me when using the poochies for cat chasers is when you get a beefed up puss full of bravado that takes a swipe at poochie and wham ...eye injury or worse .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

I noticed the following notice in yesterday's Gold Coast Bulletin in the weekly free classifieds. I think this is the first time it appeared and is a step in the right direction.
