hi guys i recently found one of my young gouldian males flying around with a limp leg. i took him out and he has been in a hospital cage for about a week. he seems to be doing fine apart from the fact that he can no longer use his left leg at all. i checked his leg out yesterday, the wound seems to have heeled although it looks as if it may be coming infected. is there any ointment i can buy to rid the infection or should i pop the lump of infected area and bathe?

I use diluted detol to clean wounds on my finches on the rare occassion that the need arrises.
They don't like it, anymore than kids do but it seems to work.
