hi guys,

I just noticed my singer hen start to look as if she is developing a darker grey patch on her breast (underneath the collar).

It almost looks like she is either wet or missing a few feathers though the missing feathers does not seem to be it.

An ideas?

She was bred last year and has been seen foraging in my grass pots playing with dry grass but not flying off with it (as would be the case when nest building).

She is also more territorial than before.

Any ideas?

Moulting?, maturing? coming into breeding condition? just cant pin it.

She has canary seed, greens and meal worms available and a cock bird that is actually quite protective of her.

Hopefully the grey color is just water or something not too serious.

Thanks
