I have a dirt floor by preference. (that could start a whole new discussion) But Gouldians really do need regular greens. If the girls from the same source are fine it leaves a query with me. But it never hurts to get birds from 2 different sources anyway, just in case they were siblings. Not everyone tells you. I just told the guy who rang about my Javas they were siblings and he seemed quite surprised that i insisted that he know what he was considering.

What greens do you feed your Gould's? I have offered a few greens and have had no luck, they sit there and chirp at the bowel until I put seed or egg and biscuit in lol. (I tried making egg food with grated boiled egg, broccoli and carrot and they wouldn't eat that either but dam they loved Chia seed.
She said they weren't siblings but I am doubtful as they were identical. The girls well one is a RH and the other a YH so I doubt they are related.

RH/yh x YH will produce both RH/yh and Yh so they could come from the same pair. But most people are honest, it's just that a lot simply don't volanteer the information. So we should remember to ask. All forms of seeding grasses go down rally well round here with all the finches. Also dandilions, and grasses. They like to pick through the roots for small insects too.
