Hi,
I intend to worm my birds with Moxidectin Plus. I have read that it is bitter and needs a sweetener.
What sweetener is commonly used?
My thought was to use a commercial Powerade product, thus adding sweetness and electroyltes.
Does anyone have see any pros or cons to that idea?

BBB.

I have heard you can add a bit of Raspberry Cordial to the mix to sweeten it up.

Hi BBB,
I use Dr Rob Marshall's Quik Gel...I'm working on the principle that when worming or medicating a bird (gouldian) you put them under stress & combining the Qukl Gel & the Moxi Plus, not only does it cover the taste, but gives them the added boost they will need...
Coincidently, I just wormed my birds, the last two days with Moxi plus & Quik Gel, and the birds are full of vigour and happy.

Cheers

You might want to read this topic on adding sweeteners to medications. Although that topic started off as referring to Baycox the general principle could be the same.
