When my BlueCap is trying to impress the hen , (who shows little interest) my Sea Green PF who I believe is male and is the noisiest out of my PF comes right over and bobs his head and shrills and puts tail in the air ,gets excited.Blue Cap gets annoyed and chases away. Why do you think the Seagreen is so interested in the BlueCaps singing ? Or maybe this PF is a Hen ? What do you guys think ? I can really feel Blue Caps fustration haha

Hi Ruthie,i know what i would prefer to breed so i would be getting him out of there till at least the Bluecaps have done their thing and gone to nest. That sort of behavior is going to result in infertile eggs for the Bluecaps. Cheers Craig

If it is the noisest out of all your RFPF's I would say It cock bird.In My colony of RFPF The males quite regularly have singing competitions in the aviaries between each other and with the BFPF's in the aviary next door to them.I do notice they try rub it in there singing towards quite a few of the other finches when they try sing in front of there mate as well as there own kind.I would move him temporily from that aviary.

Done , moved the PFs into another Aviary , come to think of it he has been interferring too with where the Bluecaps like to hang and rustle thru a certain possible nest site area and been first in at mealworms lately where the BlueCaps were always guaranteed first in
annoying lil turd Right only a couple of pairs in Girlie aviary now so lets see if this improves things and gets the ball rolling
