Have some here that come from birds sold as "yellows" no type specified. Soon became apparent that they were crosses between the 2. So Maybe later on.

Yeah so do i, but i never have checked if the egg's are fertile !!finches247 wrote:Hope the Eggs hatch![]()
As i have learned the least interference the better, I have a pair of normal green backs and are in perfect breeding condition and just
produce infertile eggs , They are the most top looking birds , But no show , Do everything right except have young.
This is a old photo of them !!
Ps I have tried other males with her , but she is happy with Blacky.

Freddy just so you know that female is not a normal...it is a white breasted hen...normals have purple breasts.

Freddy, please don't mix different mutations, put that AY cock with a normal hen and they will produce all split AY.Put EY hen with a normal cock and they will produce EYs and normals and no splits,do the right thing, gouldian mutations are becoming like Zebs you never know what your going to get and it's all because some breeders don't care or they don't want to read up on the mutations they want to breed, nothing personal but try to stop the melting pot and keep them pure to the mutation. Cheers Craig

Trouble is Craig too many people buying from places like petshops and throwing them in together and dont really care what they get as long as they breed...Hence why it is up to people like yourself to educate buyers when they come, not only on what to put them to but on quarantine and feeding regimes etc..most people think just because its a gouldian and it looks pretty lets put it with this different coloured gouldian and see what we get without realising the consequences of their actions.. I applaud people who actually join forums and such to find out more about their new found hobby as well as people such as yourself who try to educate them as well..crocnshas wrote:Freddy, please don't mix different mutations, put that AY cock with a normal hen and they will produce all split AY.Put EY hen with a normal cock and they will produce EYs and normals and no splits,do the right thing, gouldian mutations are becoming like Zebs you never know what your going to get and it's all because some breeders don't care or they don't want to read up on the mutations they want to breed, nothing personal but try to stop the melting pot and keep them pure to the mutation.
