Hi,
I'm just back into finches after almost 20yrs away & have just picked up a pair of Bengos.
I'm very fond of the earth tone finches, Bengos of course, spice finches, chestnut breasted mannikins etc. & wanted to know before I went & made a terrible mistake if anyone could advise if these birds will get along & breed happily or am I opening myself up to trouble?
Thanks
DL

The bengalese are best kept on their own.
The risk of hybridising with other Lonchura species and their habit of being over-friendly means they tend to be disruptive in a mixed collection.

Learnt the hard way that keeping Chestnuts and Bengos can be a hazard if you miss sex.
Cause you will get hybrids.
Sounds like an excellent reason to have an extra avairy.
Good luck with the Bengos, love mine.
