I've got one at the moment too, did have two but the second one didn't' made it (never got a food response from it in the 2 days I had before it passed). The first one is doing really well though, scoffing down food and growing well, it was a bit smaller than the guy pictured here when we found it but about that size now. I've been feeding a mix of mince and insectivore mix as well as worms, meal worms and crickets, very hard to keep up the live food though cos it eats so much lol. Moved it out of the brooder today into a cage and it's perchng well.

DIL has asked how long should the magpie be on this diet?
-weet bix
-Insectivore
-Boiled Egg (with shell)
-Egg & Biscuit
-Biocal
-Puppy biscuits
-bread crumbs
-Non preservative minced meat
with side servings of whole tubs of crickets.
She is trying to locate a local vet who she has been told has a ready made magpie food so she can give that a try too, but no luck locating the vet yet.

feels like forever lol.....mine certainly doesn't look like weaning anytime soon, have had him in the yard trying to get him bug hunting with the kids but he just begs everytime he sees you with one....and I know when you see them with their parents they seem to beg for a long time too....I think they are slow learners lol

What about taking a bath? With being attacked to begin with and then getting hand fed its a bit messed up, so should it be offered a bath or just sponged down?

Update of the magpie.
She is doing really well, has the run of the house when home, gets taken to DIL's work where she has the run of that place too. They have had to "Dexterize" a few of her favourite chairs (wrap them in plastic) though. She chases the snooker balls when a game is being played and has a huge outside aviary where she can really stretch her wings. She is also very curious about everything.
