I'm on the wrong side of the country and besides as said by others that is not the way to go about it.

Reckon that cat has used up all of its nine lives!
I just dont understand people who can do that to animals. How could they not imagine the pain the cat was going through?

not that i am big on cruelty them cats do have hard noggins i was out on a mates farm who is a keen animal and bird lover, he hated snakes so if you touched an owl u were better off dead u could shoot crows and rabbits foxes and cats . on his farm he had about 5 nature reserves so one night we went out shooting the ferals and we came across a couple big black cats i managed to get a shot at one and swear i hit in the head, but bugger me this thing jumped about 5 ft in the air spinning like tassie devil in the cartoons and took off. dont know the outcome for the cat but the numbers have decreased alot since my mate danny took over the property. pete

my dad had the same type of ideas on the farm cats, foxes, rabbits, roo's were all fair game to shoot on sight had to be with a rifle though as the shotgun was only for crows and snakes

I moved to a 400 acre property years ago along with my 2 part persian , very sooky cats . Within weeks the male had gone totally feral to the point where he would scream and hiss at the kids if they went near him.
He was rarely seen after that but we always would catch sight of him near the dam on hot days waiting for birds and small critters.
Sadly he was to destructive so I had to get a cat trap from the RSPCA and have him put down .
My point is they have a predatory instinct in them and a top notch killers even if they have been raised as a pet , they cant help themselves and will kill anything that moves and is smaller than them , well past time for government bodies to outlaw unneutered cats and get some kind of registry going to make owners more aware of the damage they cause.
Cats , foxes , cane toads , rabbits , crows all need to be made vermin and humanely destroyed b4 we have lost all our small native birds and critters.
Im off me soapbox now
