:angel: Sleeping like one anyway. The young fella has been very busy. Working hard in the heat and desperate for a few hard to get species this week, the pressure is on. If i get around to making a life list of species, young Jayburd has helped put a few on that :thumbup: he is a serious twitcher with an extrordinary knowledge of all birds Australian. 5 days twitching to go.One very ,very small species is giving us hell.

He`s on his way home folks. Young Jayburd put in a huge effort while he was here and it was a pleasure to have him here. He worked well at the park and worked hard on his birding. Thats not sunset in the first pic and we had many very early starts,both at work and birding.I actually only got to see his face once as the camera is a permanent attachment and could require surgery to remove. :thumbup:
I know he has some stunning pics of both aviary and wild birds. Job well done young man and look foward to your pics after you get some sleep. :thumbup: :thumbup:

One thing thought! Next time I want to see you guys wearing khaki or green clothing. ( or take a camouflage net)

:D :D BIIIIG thanks to DB for driving me all around and taking me everywhere,not to mention letting me stay with him!!!
Case - i've been trying to find good camo gear. any suggestions? there seems to be much debate on which pattern(s) to use.

Loved having you here Jayburd , one little word, no i mean NO circus or GPS locations posted after this morning. NO go zone. What u saw this morning was a chance thing and even to see a field of Crimson Chats with Orange Chats mixed in is very, very rare. 2 big flocks of cockatiels - also rare. prime habitat- rare :silent:

Ok here`s the deal, ive lived here 20 plus years, something nealry hit the windscreen this morning and i believe it was a night parrot. 10 am ,so it wouldnt be a nocturnal species. Little paddock of crimson and orange chat in the same area. Bugger ,there`s no fences in the area to decapitate Night Parrot.Jayburd saw 4, i saw the one that i thought was hitting the windscreen. Nuf said.If it was a common species its a tick,, it was just too ridiculous to comprehend and still is.Whats the chances of taking young fella for a last look around to find Red browed Pardalote , stumbling across a few flocks of cockatiels, 2 chat species, yellow rumped thornbills (bucket loads) , Big seeding spinifex and nealry cleaning up a night parrot on the way back to the airport ???????????????????

I cant comprehend it ,but its true.,i`ve very nearly cleaned up too many budgies and ringnecks in a vehicle to second guess, i know what they look like , but how do you say Night Parrot (tick ) for a lifer ???

No doubt the night parrot is out there, there are just not many skilled observers in the places they live ..... until last week, it seems...
