Hey guys,
just a quick post, to see if anyone went to the sale, and wants to tell us how it went?
Anything interesting there? what quantities were there?
I'm just interested as I was going to go, but didn't get the opportunity?
Hope it was good!
from Brayden

The hall is far too small and it was far too crowded to see the birds let alone buy any.
Parsons $40 pr, Strawberries $80 pr, Cubans $65pr infact just the normal run of finches which sold quickly.
A dealer was there but his prices were high so there were still his if you wanted them bad enough.

Brayden - If you contact the Hunter Finch Branch i reckon they will be able to put you in touch with some strawbs.
I have never see so many strawberrys in the one place.
One guy there must have had a surplus of cock birds as he was selling them for 10$ each.
There was a stack of pairs going for 80$.
Lots of cutthroats cubans ruddies/pied ruddies mutation gouldians
It was far to packed in so many people so little room, i planned on getting some pics but it was impossible.
Also there was quite a few finch sellers that had birds in boxes but werent interested in displaying, it was kind of like they were pre sold and they were just there as a meeting point, it was real strange.
Not a bad day though.
Cheers
Luke

If you can, you are far better off tavelling to the Orange Bird Sale.
It covers two halls and a large interconnecting Maquee.
Sellers travel there from Victoria,Hunter region further north,Sydney and locally.
We have a great time there.

Thanks Luke, sounds like a good time... I imagine there would be a good lot of people picking up birds thaqt were pre bought - they might have to look at increasing their hall size for next year??

You are making me jealous.
There is nothing like that within 400km of me.
I have to manage a long slog to the big smoke. Perth to you.
