Hi all,

I have 3 young Scarlet Chested (white fronted) they left the nest on the 10 of April.
Now the Cock bird is becoming aggressive towards the 3 young birds.
My question is can I safely remove the cock bird out of the cage? or will this be a problem
for the 3 young birds?

Any help is much appreciated.

Have the parents started there 2nd clutch ? If the chicks are feeding by themselves I would remove them.

18 days out of the nest .]
I think they would be fine on their own , just give them plenty of foods easy to eat as well as seed .
Egg/ biscuit , greens , cake etc all help to get the weight up and keep them in a warmish spot away from draughts .

Just watch them closley .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

I've had Scarlet cocks turn on the young in a couple of days after they have fledged. Like budgies, they learn to feed themselves very quickly, so would be safe to remove the young at this stage as he is probably not still feeding them.

Or like budgies. If you can put them in an adjoining cage where they can get their heads through to be fed, but not into the same avairy. This sometimes is the ideal situation.
