Made the trip to Orange and it was cold and wet. Met up with E orix, finchman1 and wild bill. Sorry I missed other forum members that attended. Overall a lot of finches which included pictorella, we mask, song sparrows, red crested, pintails, bluecaps, pied cordons, pied red parrot finches, plum heads, stars, painted, black headed nuns, white headed nuns, pearl long tails, Cubans, silverbills, strawbs, diamonds, pied diamonds and a lot of Gouldian's. I am sure I missed some but overall I had another great day out.

Sam,
Went to say Hi but got tied up with Roy. Maybe we can have a chat at Cessnock. Saints looked nice by the way! Would love some but the live food puts me off.
Ken.

Craig,
Tell me about it. He helped me catch up about 70 birds last week. Here I am trying to catch and all he can do is talk! Lovely bloke though. Out caught me by 2 to 1. My goulds are from his stock. Pretty good birds. Are you sure I don't need live food for the Saints? My birds (Goulds/Painteds/Stars) get sprouted/soaked seed, greens and grains and greens (dandelion/milkthistle/endive) every morning. Would that suffice?
Any help appreciated.

Jack
I took some pics but haven't had time to download/crop them yet. I'll do that over the next few days.
The local newspaper took a few which can be seen at:

Roy is a top bloke for sure BUT the reason I only have a few photos (which I'll post later) is largely to do with young Roy. Saturday morning and we're making good time but then I stopped for fuel - bad mistake. Roy decides to order the big aussie breakfast which takes long enough but then he decides to complete his weekly mission (if you know what I mean). So we're waiting in the car for another half hour. So we arrive as the doors open which meant a mad panic to set up my birds and the FSA stuff while Roy casually wanders off to help sell Priam's fruit loops!Craig52 wrote:Ken if that's what you feed i can't see any problems breeding saints. Sam I know exactly what you mean!!! My daughter who came with me had to drop off her kids to my other daughter at Windsor. That's ok but we didn't really have to waste 30 mins there so she could have a coffee!!! Then she wanted to stop at maccas at Lithgow where of course there was a queue!!! Needless to say we didn't get there until almost 10.30, had to set up birds for sale. GRRRR........ Very frustrating!!! And it's a bloody long drive from Toukley on wet nasty roads. On the bright side, I managed to get a seller to split his 2 pairs of plumheads and sell me the hens for $70. Fortunately I peeked in on them in the small carry box a few hours later and noticed one of the hens had turned into a bloody cock!!! Even more luckily, the seller was still there. So he swapped the cock for a hen. Knowing my luck they could well start getting the claret colour under their chins any day now LOL
